You are now ready to configure the Digital Interface for MMTTY. I use a homebrew transistor (hardware) to key PTT, so I leave this box un-checked. When you go to test your setup, if your radio doesn’t key then you can come back and check this box.

The N1MM Logger+ Spectrum Monitor, sometimes called Spectrum Display, is a nice addition to N1MM Logger Plus and it works very well as I discovered during a RTTY contest.

Fortunately the IC-7300 is included in the list of supported radios. If you are unsure which one to use, leave this un-checked. Not too long ago N1MM came out with a spectrum monitor for a limited number of radios. You won’t blow anything up but strange things could happen.

It’s absolutely important that you do not enable both hardware and software PTT control at the same time. If you key PTT via a hardware device such as a homebrew transistor or commercial interface, then leave this box un-checked. If you are going to use radio control to key PTT, then you must check the PTT via Radio Command Digital Mode check box. One very important part of this screen are the PTT options for Digital, SSB and CW modes.

In this example, my Icom IC-756 PRO III is connected to COM port 4 and these are the settings. In the next dialog screen you will set additional parameters for the COM port where the radio is connected. I'm often asked what logging software I use and what is the SDR module in the middle of my screen. The installer and info is available here: Enjoy.5.

Using any tool that can share COM ports, you connect the 7300 to CATMapper, then connected the other port on CATMapper to one side of the Shared COM port for the FT1000. So - let's say you are controlling an FT1000MP from N1MM, but have an Icom 7300 on the desk.

What has this to do with N1MM? Let's say your running N1MM in a remote scenario where N1MM is the only rig control. The idea is only for VFO-type functions (Frequency, VFO Selection, Split) and TX/RX (the latter to support the K3/0 footswitch input to key the SmartSDR, in my case.). I tested it using an Elecraft K3/0 Mini, which is a source for Elecraft CAT. If not, go to Rttyrite > TU Type > TNC Setup and enable MMTTY in XMMT.ocx setup. So, before ARRL DX SSB, when I was going to use Flex's SmartSDR, I came up with the idea. (WriteLog Window menu > RTTY Window) If you previously enabled XMMT.ocx as the TU Type and selected MMTTY in XMMT.ocx setup, the MMTTY RTTY Control panel should open. Hey N1MM+ Fans, I often use remote software that does not have a hardware VFO.
